Job Description:

• Job Title: Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care (Cardiac PCU)
• Location: Burlington, VT
• Schedule: Every Weekend Only – Friday to Sunday
• Shift: 12-Hour Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Pay Range: $$2,520.00 - $2,820.00
• Assignment Duration: 32 Weeks
• Start Date: 06/30/2025
• End Date: 02/09/2026

Overview:

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Intermediate Care RN with a strong background in cardiac stepdown and surgical telemetry care. This role is situated in a progressive care unit with a cardiac/surgical focus. You will play a key role in providing high-quality post-operative care, particularly for Day 1 post-op open/closed heart (CABG/OH) patients, within a high-acuity hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care for cardiac, post-surgical, and telemetry patients.

• Monitor and assess post-operative patients following major cardiothoracic or vascular procedures.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced Level 1 trauma environment.

• Float to similar units as needed to support hospital staffing needs.

• Document patient care using Epic EMR.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; 1 year in cardiac stepdown/intermediate care required.

• Current AHA certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (required prior to start).

• Must have: Recent Level 1 Trauma Center experience (within last 12 months).

• Epic EMR experience within past 2 years (nonnegotiable).

• Required: Cardiothoracic and vascular experience; post-op Day 1 CABG experience.

• PCCN preferred.
