Kimberly Mihelich MSN, Ed., RN, FNHHC, CPAN

Adjunct Professor of Nursing Great Bay Community College
Curriculum Writer, Fellow, New Hampshire Humanities Collaborative

Kim has over 25 years in acute care, trauma center and ambulatory perianesthesia care experience. She specialized in perianesthesia education and launched a patient video education platform that was featured on the local news show NH Chronicle and The Portsmouth Herald in 2023. She has worked as a perianesthesia education consultant and invited speaker to the NH School Nurse’s Association, Sigma Theta Tau International, the Community College System of NH collective symposium and ASPAN’s national conference. Kim obtained her MSN Ed in 2020 after a decades long goal of educating the next generation of nurses. She is a clinical instructor at Great Bay Community College and serves as the Education Board chair for VT/NH APAN. She is passionate about nursing ethics and promoting excellent clinical practice.

Amy Dooley

National nurse leader with expertise in areas of perianesthesia and critical care. Senior leader responsible for all business affairs of national nursing organization, including during the Covid-19 pandemic crisis with the viability of the organization maintained. US representative to the International Collaboration of Perianesthesia Nursing organization. Skilled in: Evidence Based Practice, Education, Research, and Professional Development. Accomplished leader, educator, speaker, author, program director.

Schooling: Wheelock College, 2018 – bachelors in counseling psych & human development Boston University, 2019 – masters in child life and family studies. -Internships completed at Boston Children’s Hospital, Tuft’s Medical Center, and Mass Eye and Ear. -Employed as a CCLS at UVM Health in 2019, starting out in a per diem position covering many areas of the hospital. Moved to full time in Peri-Op in 2020 where I currently reside

Taylor Small BS

Director of Health Equity

Taylor is the Director of Health Equity at UVM Medical Center (UVMMC), partnering across the UVM Health System to embed equity in care. She provides executive oversight of three programs – Office of Patient & Family Advocacy, which addresses complaints and grievances and converts feedback into system learning; the Patient and Family Advisor Program, which integrates patient and family perspectives into system decisions through Advisors and Patient & Family Advisory Councils (PFACs); and Health Literacy, which advances accessible communication standards and plain-language practices across the organization. She also co-chairs UVM Health’s annual Health Equity Summit. Previously, Taylor served as Health & Wellness Program Director at the Pride Center of Vermont, leading LGBTQIA+ health initiatives and training thousands of healthcare and human service professionals in culturally responsive practice. She also served in the Vermont House of Representatives on the Committee on Human Services, where her policy work included championing provider shield laws that protect access to gender-affirming care and reproductive healthcare in Vermont. A graduate of the University of Vermont (B.S., Human Development & Family Studies; minor in Sexuality & Gender Identity Studies), Taylor has called Vermont home for 16 years. Her professional focus spans health equity and justice, with an emphasis on building systems that are welcoming, accessible, and accountable to the communities they serve. She brings curiosity, humor, and transparency to every collaboration and believes feedback is a critical driver of meaningful, measurable change.

Geera Demers CPHQ

Director of Culture & Experience

Geera serves as the University of Vermont Medical Center (UVMMC) Director of Culture and Experience. In her current role she supports employees in resolving cultural conflicts, oversees spiritual care, and facilitates employee education on the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. She also develops and delivers organization-wide trainings to enhance knowledge, cultivate a positive culture, and improve employee retention. Geera guides the implementation of cultural humility in practices and policies to foster a supportive work environment. Prior to this role, Geera worked was the senior quality improvement partner for UVM Health, where she facilitated trainings on quality improvement methodologies, provided project management support for the health system and external community stakeholders using quality improvement best practices. She also holds the designation of CPHQ or certified professional in healthcare quality. Before moving to Vermont, Geera worked in New York City as the Program Manager for the Cancer Prevention Program at New York-Presbyterian Hospital (NYP), organizing cancer screenings and educational events. In her role as the research project coordinator at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, she coordinated research for multi-institutional and international clinical trials.
